The Wine Capital is a London based firm that provides investment services in fine wine as an alternative asset class. Our background in investments and technology has enabled us to develop next generation investing capabilities. This data-driven process is focused on identifying what drives the underlying value of wine in order to generate outsized returns.
Roni Schocken, CFA.
Founder and Managing Director
Roni is the founder of The Wine Capital. He is responsible for all key investment decisions, including research, trading, and portfolio management. Roni developed the technology-driven method that is at the heart of The Wine Capital’s investment strategy. Prior to founding The Wine Capital, he was an equity analyst and a member of the investment committee at EARNEST Partners, a US-based investment firm that managed more than $20 Billion.
Roni has an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is a chartered financial analyst (CFA), one of the highest distinctions in the investment management profession. The CFA charter is recognized globally for its commitment to ethics and professionalism. Roni has a BA in Economics and Law (magna cum laude) from Tel Aviv University. He qualified as a lawyer in Israel, after completing his internship in the Israeli Supreme Court. Roni completed the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 2 with distinction.
Tal Marian.
Director of Data and Technology
Tal is responsible for developing and building The Wine Capital’s proprietary data analysis tools. Tal has gained extensive experience working as senior product manager in leading tech companies, including Google, Amazon and Intel. He co-authored several US patents. Tal has a B.Sc in Electrical Engineering (magna cum laude) from Tel Aviv University, an M.Sc in Software Engineering (magna cum laude) where he researched centralized and distributed algorithms and machine learning, and an MBA joint degree from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University and Recanati Graduate School of Business, Tel Aviv University.
